Arts in Oregon - OCF Fields Gift

We are seeking your input on a project that will have significant impact on the arts in Oregon. As you may know, the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) has recently received a gift of $150 million from Fred Fields. This gift - one of the largest ever to a community foundation - will create a permanent endowed fund at OCF, providing $6-7 million annually for the arts and education in Oregon. We are honored and humbled that Mr. Fields had confidence that OCF would determine the best possible uses of his bequest.

To set priorities for the Fields Fund that align Mr. Fields' interests with community needs, the OCF board and staff are conducting extensive research. A significant part of this research is hearing from knowledgeable individuals around the state – and we believe you are someone who has a valuable perspective on the arts.

We have created an online survey that we are asking you to complete. We hope that you will share in the important work of identifying potential strategies for the Fields Fund by responding to five questions and sharing your advice on a ranking of priorities. At this time we are looking for general information – the pulse of the community – on the topics below. Your responses will help us narrow our focus on community needs and approaches that will make the most effective use of Mr. Fields’ gift. As we move forward, we will continue to engage the arts community in more focused conversations.

Please respond by Wednesday June 27.
