The Memphis Police Association is proud to serve the citizens of Memphis especially our children. One way we support the community is by creating opportunities to hear from citizens and members about issues that are important to everyone. As you know our city government is trying to satisfy the debt owed to the the Memphis City Schools.
In most communities, the public school systems are supported by the citizens. Our city government is asking us to consider doing something similar.
Mayor Wharton currently purposes a temporary, three-year .18 property tax increase to cover the debt owed to our school system.
