Teen Leadership Institute - Accepting Applications
Young women interested in developing their leadership skills are invited to apply for the Teen Leadership Institute. The institute will consist of a leadership conference and monthly workshops on leadership methods, decision making skills, goal setting, social justice, public speaking, self-expression, civic engagement and volunteering. This leadership program is aimed at encouraging and motivating Latina teen girls to make a difference in their community through leadership and volunteerism. Young women will engage in interactive activities that will help them explore their own strengths and cultivate their leadership abilities. The program will run throughout the semester leading up to a graduation ceremony in May.

Eligibility:
•Be a Hispanic girl between the ages of 13-18
•Demonstrate an interest in volunteerism
•Demonstrate leadership capabilities
•Commit to entire semester (January-May)
•Pay $15 membership fee for workshop materials
(scholarships are available)

Requirements:
•Organize 2 community service projects
•Complete a minimum of 20 volunteer hours during the semester
•Organize a fundraising project
•Participate in a committee
•Participate in the January 28 training retreat
•Commit to attending two meetings per month

About Us:
The Teen Leadership Institute is hosted by Latinitas, a nonprofit dedicated to the empowerment and advancement of Latina youth.
