MWATTC Workforce Development

The Mountain West ATTC (MWATTC) has been conducting meetings with substance abuse treatment professionals throughout the MWATTC Region. Information from these meetings will be used to provide input into the development of a national substance use disorders treatment workforce survey. The purpose of the National ATTC Workforce Survey is to gather data that will guide the formation of effective policies and strategies aimed at successfully recruiting and retaining a sufficient number of adequately prepared providers who are able to respond to the growing needs of those affected by substance use problems and disorders. The data collected from the national survey will be used to:

- Increase the understanding of the demographics of the current workforce
- Highlight regional differences in workforce needs
- Determine workforce development deficiencies and help target recruitment and retention strategies
- Identify successful strategies already in place that prepare, retain, and maintain the workforce
- Create state, regional, and national policies that will increase the number of adequately prepared providers

Since you were unable to attend the meeting in your state, we have developed this survey to give you an opportunity to provide your input on what you consider as important data to gather about the current substance use disorders treatment workforce. The survey will take approximately 10 - 20 minutes to complete, depending on the amount of detail you wish to provide. The feedback we receive from you will be added to the information gathered during the meetings, thereby allowing us to provide more comprehensive input into the national workforce survey development.

Thank you for taking time to help us insure that the National Workforce Survey collects data representative of the specific workforce issues in the MWATTC Region.
