JAFSCD Survey
Why This Survey?
The first four issues of the Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development (JAFSCD) have now been published at www.AgDevJournal.com, and we are asking you to help us evaluate its overall content and usefulness. This very brief survey is anonymous, so please be candid.
As you answer the questions, please keep in mind the following: JAFSCD and its companion website, AgDevONLINE.com, were created to fill a void in supporting the development of sustainable food and farming systems that produce good food and meaningful employment, reinvigorate rural communities, and protect farmland and other natural resources. JAFSCD does this by providing a forum for the work of scholars and professionals who work on these topics around the world.
The four issues making up the first volume include 44 papers and 23 columns, book reviews, commentaries, and editorials — over 800 pages in all! We have greatly enjoyed working with authors and our reviewers and advisors in providing this content, and we have received generally positive responses from both subscribers and libraries.
However, the successful future of JAFSCD depends on meeting the needs of persons like yourself. The weak economy and the changing journal publishing industry mean that JAFSCD must continue to be a valued resource for food system scholars and professionals.
We are very grateful for your assistance in this evaluation of JAFSCD.
