Your unique opportunity to tell SEEd how Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) works in practice in the UK!
Do you work in community engagement, training and communications or behaviour change leadership?
Are you a sustainability, climate change or environment officer for a local authority?
Are you an educator working in ESD in the UK?
Does your organization work with ESD?
As part of their Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD), UNESCO and SEEd want to hear your experiences…
- What are your views on ESD?
- How does your organization best facilitate ESD?
- Who benefits from this facilitation?
- What changes are becoming visible as a result of the work your organization does?
- What influence do you think this work is having on mainstream education?
This is for all formal and non-formal. Government (local and national), networks and businesses who are delivering Education for Sustainable Development are also encouraged to respond – it's not just for schools!
SEEd has been asked to encourage and collate the responses from the UK. We have put this onto Survey Monkey to help make the process faster. Later this Spring, we will collate a full report for the UK and contributors will be able to take part in our annual Policy Forum at the end of April, where we hope Government representatives will speak / attend. So join in and let's see where we are and what we still need to do!
If you have materials you wish to include please send to SEEd at:
SEEd,
Upper Unit 5, Bay 4

Your responses will contribute to a world wide research programme UNESCO have put together as part of the second phase of the DESD:
- Phase I (2007-2009) Focusing on contexts and structures for ESD
- Phase II (2009-2012) Focusing on processes and learning for ESD
- Phase III (2012-2014) Focusing on outputs, outcomes and impacts of the Decade of ESD
The aims of UNESCO’s survey are to:
- Engage with key international stakeholders
- Reflect on global trends and experiences across a range of sectors
- Explore how the ESD sector is evolving.
Want to take part? Click 'next' below. The survey should only take a few minutes. If you have any questions or would like information and / or documentation to help with filling out the form please call Sarah or Ann on: 0207 820 7569.
