Interprofessional Education and Healthcare Simulation

Do you use healthcare simulation modalities for interprofessional education?

 100%
If you have used healthcare simulation for interprofessional education, we ask that you complete the following 14-question survey. We seek to create a pool of knowledge for educators who use simulation for interprofessional education. The results of this survey will be presented at the 2012 Interprofessional Education and Healthcare Simulation Symposium (see www.ssih.org). Results can be emailed to you if you provide your contact information at the end of this survey.

Thank you for your investment in this project.

1. Which professional organization sent you this survey?

2. How long have you been providing interprofessional simulations?

3. How many different interprofessional simulation courses or projects have you implemented within your organization?

4. What clinical skills, team skills, or concepts were you looking to achieve with your interprofessional simulation activities?

5. What professions/learner types have you involved in these courses? Check all that apply. You may copy and paste or organize your response by course in the comment box provided.

6. What simulation methods have you used when teaching interprofessional courses or sessions? Check all that apply.

7. If you have used multiple simulation modalities, which method(s) appears the most effective at achieving the interprofessional objectives for your courses? If you would like to specify how certain methods are more effective for certain objectives, please explain in the comment field.

8. Why did you decide to use simulation for your interprofessional education?

9. What barriers have you encountered in developing or implementing your interprofessional simulated courses/sessions?

10. Did you use a framework or theory to develop your course?

11. What simulation-specific challenges (e.g. equipment or software limitations, environment, scenario development, debriefing issues, and so forth) have you encountered using simulation for interprofessional education?

12. Which evaluation methods do you use to evaluate your interprofessional simulations?

13. Have any of your interprofessional simulation activities been published in a peer-reviewed journal?

14. What would you like to learn more about to help guide you in your future interprofessional simulation courses or programs?

15. In your experience, simulation is _______ than other interprofessional education activities at achieving interprofessional learning objectives.

16. The name of your institution or simulation program (optional):

17. Types of learners you service (optional):
