Kolot Chayeinu 5772 High Holydays Services

5772/2011 High Holydays at Kolot Chayeinu

Dear Kolot Chayeinu members and friends, We look forward to ushering in 5772 with you and all of Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of Our Lives.

So many people join us for these Yamim Noraim/Days of Awe, that we can not all fit into the same worship space at the same time. To meet our growing needs, we are excited this year to experiment with staggered services, meaning that for Erev Rosh Hashanah and Kol Nidre, Kolot will host two services. Both services will be complete and full of what you expect at Kolot -- beautiful music, meaningful prayer and liturgy, inspiring remarks, warmth and connection with our community. The 6pm service will be briefer, with candle-lighting, songs, prayers, and a story or reflection from the Rabbi; it will end by 7:30pm at the latest. The 8pm service will be a little longer, deeper in the traditional prayers of these Holydays, and will include a sermon by Rabbi Lippmann. It should end by 10pm. Both services on erev Yom Kippur will include the singing of Kol Nidre.

To help us plan, thank you for letting us know below which erev Rosh Hashanah and erev Yom Kippur service you will attend. While Kolot’s doors are open to all, the building that houses us has occupancy limitations, so we cannot guarantee a seat for you. Please do come early to increase your chances of getting one. We hope having two services will make it easier for all to be with us.

L'shana tova tikateivu: may you be written for a good year.

Rabbi Ellen Lippmann Cantor Lisa B Segal
