Overview of CFC Programs
Child Care (Alternative Payment) Subsidy Program:
Our Alternative Payment Program provides parents with financial assistance for child care services. Parents must meet income requirements and have a need for child care while they work, look for employment or attend training. Parents who are incapacitated, who have children at risk of abuse or neglect, or have children with special needs may also be eligible.
Child Care Resource and Referral Program:
The Referral Program offers a variety of services for those seeking support and education related to child care and development. We are a vital link connecting families to child care providers. Our Referral Coordinators have an extensive computerized data base of providers and assist parents in the challenging and often complicated search for child care that most appropriately matches their family needs.
Child Care Food Program:
The Child Care Food Program (CCFP) provides cash reimbursement to family child care providers for serving nutritious meals and snacks to enrolled children, birth through age twelve. Feeding children well is an important part of a quality child care program. Children benefit by receiving nutritious meals; being introduced to different types of food; and learning healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime.
Centralized Eligibility List (CEL):
The Centralized Eligibility List (CEL) is ONE LIST that connects income-eligible families to subsidized child care and development programs throughout El Dorado County. The benefit of using a CEL is that it allows families to have one-stop access to all child care subsidy programs in the county. It is identified as an "eligibility list" rather than a "waiting List" because families are ranks in terms of there eligibility for services, rather than by time on the list. Although being on the list is not a guarantee of services, it does expand your opportunities of receiving subsidized child care.
