SABEW Survey (Summer 2012)

1. SABEW Survey (Summer 2012)

For the third year, the Society of American Business Editors and Writers is conducting a confidential survey of business journalists throughout the country to determine the pay for full-time business reporters and editors in various positions.

The data is being updated to determine whether pay for business journalists is rising or falling, by how much, and what positions are seeing the biggest changes in compensation. If you're a freelancer, we'll update our data on your compensation later in the year.

To find out how salaries are changing, we need your help. Please answer the following questions. Answering the questions will take less than a minute, but will provide valuable data for business journalists such as yourselves.
1. What job do you have in business journalism?
2. What region of the country do you work in?
3. How long have you been in your current position?
4. How many other business journalism jobs have you had prior to your current business journalism position?
5. What is your current salary?
6. How much has your salary changed in the past 12 months?
7. Why did your salary rise?
(SKIP this question if you did not indicate a rise in salary.)
8. How would you describe your media outlet?
9. Please provide your name for verification purposes only. Your identity will not be published or used in any way.
