The Cleveland Cavaliers are excited to offer your classrooms the opportunity to participate in the Read to Achieve program, presented in association with Castaway Bay.
Read to Achieve is designed to help children develop a life-long love for reading and encourage adults to read regularly with children.
The program is open to all students in grades K-8 in Cuyahoga, Erie, Lorain, Summit, Medina, Portage, Geauga and Lake counties. Participating teachers that register their classrooms will receive an email each month of the Cavaliers regular season (November – April) with an exciting literacy activity for their students. One classroom will be randomly selected each month to participate in a literacy activity with a Cavaliers player!
At the conclusion of the program (April 15, 2015), all students that participate in the monthly lessons will receive a Cavaliers prize. In addition, each teacher will receive a Read to Achieve poster for his/her classroom as well as one poster for each student to take home.
The deadline for registration is October 27, 2014, and every classroom that registers by that date will be eligible to participate.
The program will begin on Monday, November 3, 2014, and conclude on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. If you are signing up multiple classrooms, please complete a separate registration form for each room.
The first email to all teachers will go out on Monday, November 3, 2014, with the first suggested literacy activity for the month of November.
We look forward to your participation in the 2014-15 Read to Achieve program!
