Welcome to Global Ties San Francisco! Are you interested in experiencing new cultures and making new global relationships? Global Ties is looking for community members who are interested in engaging with emerging leaders through the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in professional, hospitality, and cultural capacities.

IVLP is a professional exchange program under the U.S. Department of State that brings international emerging leaders to the United States for 21 day programs where participants travel to several cities to meet with professional counterparts and experience American culture. These participants have been identified by our U.S. embassies abroad as experts in their fields across grassroots activism, business entrepreneurship, education, arts, technology and government. One of the main goals of IVLP is to create opportunities for these visiting individuals and groups to interact with their American professional counterparts, to share ideas, and to build long lasting relationships that will have far reaching and positive effects. More than 50 current and 275 former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government are IVLP alumni.

In San Francisco we implement professional and cultural programming for over 900 visitors annually. As a volunteer with IVLP at Global Ties SF, there are multiple ways you can engage with our international guests and contribute to helping us achieve the diplomatic goals of this program.

Please fill out the online form below to provide us with more information about your background and interests in engaging with our local program. One of our staff members will be in touch soon to follow up with you about your application.

Thank you,
