1. GSNIM Volunteer Application
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana. It is only with the support of adults willing to make a difference that girls can participate in the Girl Scout program. By sharing your time, you will help today’s girls grow into tomorrow’s leaders.
Girl Scouts, as it always has, gives girls the tools they need to be successful leaders now and throughout their lives. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience engages girls in discovering themselves, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place.
Today’s Girl Scout volunteer opportunities may surprise you. We offer several exciting, flexible, pathways through which adults can participate. Whether you choose to work directly or indirectly with girls, or on a short-term or long-term basis, you will get all the instruction, guidance, and support you will need to fulfill the responsibilities of your volunteer role successfully as you guide girls through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
Since the safety of the girls and the Girl Scout program is the highest priority, we ask that you follow these procedures before you can be appointed to a volunteer position.
1. Complete this online application (There are 3 pages to complete and you will be directed to the criminal background check portal)
2. A volunteer or staff member will contact you once the application is received, in order to set up a short interview.
3. Once the criminal background and reference checks are complete, you will receive an official appointment letter notifying you of your approval. It contains information about the required training for your position and contact information for volunteer and staff support people.
If you have any questions or need help completing the application, please contact Alena Saxon at 1-800-283-4812 ex 302
