Introduction

Welcome to the 2013 Green Salem Business Challenge: Greater Shades of Green

Please use this helpful survey as part of your business planning.

Green initiatives can save you money, help you build your customer base, and we believe should be part of your overall marketing and branding strategy. By using the GSBC as a guide, you can do better and do good! Incorporating simple changes into your business practices will reap savings and rewards for you and for the planet.

Please take a moment to review and sign the sustainability pledge, the first simple step on the path to a greener business!

How to efficiently use your time when taking the survey:

1. Download the PDF version of the GSBC survey and review prior to filling out online. If you are a previous GSBC participant, please also review your prior survey. You may want to gather pertinent information related to cleaning and maintenance, energy and heating, water consumption, trash and recycling, transportation, and your products and services. Employee policy and training documents may also be helpful.

2. Think about what you want to accomplish. Do you want to cut your water or heating bill? Create a recycling policy to lower your trash bill? Build your customer base? Setting specific goals will help you save money and increase your profitability.

3. Plan to fill out the survey in one sitting. It should take you about 20 minutes to complete the survey. To avoid frustration plan to complete the survey in one sitting.
*please note, if you must leave the survey you may complete it from where you left off if you are using the same computer (IP Address).
** The GSBC survey closes on April 22nd.
