Transportation Network

Summer 2012

Dear Colleague:

The Riverside County Transportation Commission maintains a listing of agency representatives concerned with the public transit needs and other mobility needs of seniors, persons with disabilities and persons of limited means. This listing we are calling the TRANSPORTATION NETWORK was formerly developed through the 2007 Riverside County Public Transit-Human Services Coordinated Transportation Plan. We plan to use this TRANSPORTATION NETWORK listing for various purposes.

By responding to the following 5 question survey, you are contributing to the Public Transit Network and will be placed upon its mailing list.

We may provide those on the NETWORK with notices regarding any of the following during the year:
• Public hearings about transit fare changes and other initiatives.
• Bus routing or other operational changes.
• New services such as van pools, specialized shuttles or other new transportation-related programs.
• Grant opportunities: Including Universal Call grants for vehicles (Section 5310) and operating or capital project grants (Measure A, Job Access & Reverse Commute, New Freedom funds).
• Information about special transportation coordination opportunities.
• Transit-related training and scholarship opportunities: Including University of the Pacific Transit Management Certificate program or the Rural Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP) training workshops.

We expect the TRANSPORTATION NETWORK will help you keep tabs on existing and new transportation services, communicating with your constituents in an informed manner about our current public transit - bus and rail - service network and anticipated improvements to it.
