Commercial/Community Kitchen Outreach Survey
1. Commercial/Community Kitchen
We are conducting outreach for the potential needs for a commercial kitchen in our area. The Sno-Valley Tilth has prioritized this as an important infrastructure piece for sustainable agriculture in our area, and feels it can add to the economic resilience of our region. Discussions with City Council for a commercial kitchen in Carnation Market Square are no longer in progress, and is not the focus of this survey. However, we are including questions that include this as an option because it was still a topic of discussion at our November 18th Public Outreach meeting. This survey is intended to help guide us in moving forward with creating a commercial kitchen for agricultural processing, value-added business incubation, and the development of community kitchen resources.
Definitions: 'Local produce' refers to Washington grown, 'Carnation resident' refers to those living within city limits; 'Value-added' refers to the process of taking local raw ingredients and processing them into jams, sauces, juices etc which increases their value.
