To be eligible for AANEM membership Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technologists must:

a. Actively be contributing to the clinical practice of electrodiagnostic (EDX) and/or neuromuscular medicine.

b. Send a Letter of Support from a Fellow or Active Member of the AANEM. This letter can be from a physician you work with now, a physician who trained you years ago, a physician you met at a meeting, a physician who works in your city who is familiar with your practice etc. It does not have to be your current supervising physician or even be from a physician in your state.

c. Agree to abide by all AANEM position statements, including but not limited to those relating to physician supervision and scope of practice. Please note AANEM position statements do not permit nonphysician performance of needle electromyography (EMG) or interpretation of nerve conduction studies (NCSs).

d. Be generally supervised by a neurologist or physical medicine and rehabilitation (PMR) physician with direct supervision during the performance of NCSs.

Once approved you will be eligible for member rates on products, annual meeting fees, and receive member benefits such as email alerts and the AANEM newsletter. You will automatically be sent information regarding the upcoming AANEM annual meeting and the courses, workshops, and expert round tables designed for technologists.
