1. Volunteering for the Environment
Volunteering SA&NT is the peak body for volunteering in SA and the NT, providing a range of support and services –including training, consulting, advocacy and policy advice to the sector, government and the general public.
VSA&NT is contracted by the SA Murray Darling Basin Natural Resource Management Board to develop their volunteer strategy.
NOTE: Natural resource management refers to the management of natural resources such as land, water, soil, plants and animals, with a particular focus on how management affects the quality of life for both present and future generations.
The strategy will ensure a sustainable volunteer program with long term volunteer contribution to the management of natural resources in the South Australian Murray-Darling basin.
The scope includes input from diverse community groups to investigate the potential for engagement of volunteers from outside of the Murray region to support natural resource management activities and projects within the Murray region.
Examples of natural resource management volunteer activities include:
• Administration
• Marketing
• Catering
• Project planning
• Weeding
• Tree planting
• Plant and animal surveys
• Building/Fencing
• Transport
• Provision of goods
Your input in completing this survey will be much appreciated.
