. Give Back Beyond Building Homes & Hope in Romania, Detroit, New Orleans & Ghana in 2012!
Join Give Back Beyond as we take a travel to Romania (Target April 21-28), Detroit (June 21-24), New Orleans (July 14–22), and/or Ghana (Target Sept 29-Oct 7). During each trip we will work with the local Habitat for Humanity affiliates and other non-profits affiliates to make a tangible impact in those communities.
The team (approx 80 people for NOLA & 15 people for international trips) will be spending 5 days building homes working from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily. In Detroit we will have a mix of hands-on events, social, and civic engagement events in the 4-day trip. Wherever we go, we will have opportunities to engage with the local culture and also have a lot of fun with an amazing team of volunteers...
Please be aware that we will be doing hard physical labor, but it will be more rewarding than you can ever imagine. The cost of the trip will include transportation to/from/around your destination, Hotel, and Breakfast/Lunch.
We expect the cost per person to be $2,000 (Romania), $300 (Detroit), $600 (NOLA), and $3,000 (Ghana) for trips. Please note that there may be some optional R&R activities and incremental cost for NOLA. Additional out of pocket costs may be required for immunizations and passports for international participants.
Deposits:
Romania - a deposit of $500 will be due upon confirmation of the team in early February
Detroit - a deposit of $150 will be due at the kick-off meeting in March balance due in April
NOLA - a deposit of $200 will be due at the kick-off meeting in March balance due in May
Ghana - a $500 deposit will be due for Ghana in late March.
All international applicants and new domestic applicants will have a conversation with team leads prior to team finalization to ensure all of your questions are answered.
Give Back Cincinnati will assist in a targeted fundraising event for each trip, provide suggestions for fundraising, and provide an on-line location for you to direct donors. By signing-up you are committing to your ability to fund the full amount of the trip. You are ALSO committing to making payments ON-TIME, failure to make payments on-time will result in removal from the team and loss of your deposit. All deposits are non-refundable.
EVERYONE is expected to participate in the planning of this trip in the months leading up to it. There will be other pre-trip meetings (~monthly) that you are expected to attend and participate in...service travel is not a spectator sport.
