Greetings to all those who seek to join Hui Mauli Ola as we set a course once traveled by our kupuna. We gather as humble practitioners united by our healing arts in the hope of creating a paradigm shift for the health of our community. Since the inception of Hui Mauli Ola (HMO) in 2005 which led to our momentous gathering in Aotearoa in 2007, our group has been involved in many worthwhile school, family and community projects. Involvement with these groups provided the realization that a grassroots, community-based movement addressing traditional health and wellness was needed and in high demand
The Papa Alaka`i (planning leaders) have been diligently planning HMO’s future directions, completing our strategic plan in December 2009. This plan seeks to meet both the broad as well as specific needs for our practitioners, as we strive to meet the kuleana to serve ourselves, our `ohana and our communities
The organizing body of HMO has identified four key components that will help to guide the directions we seek to take as we move forward:
1) Developing Hawaiian Health Practitioners
2) Promoting Hawaiian Wellness through education, family strengthening and community building
3) Expanding resources for a thriving organization
4) Creating a model health center
With these four objectives we move forward guided by akua, inspired by our kupuna, and supported by common values and principles within our practice. Through this practice we create our reality supported by those that have come before us and leave a legacy and richness for those that follow. Let us continue to meet, discuss, plan and implement the best of our practices for the benefit of all people. Let us put away our fears, insecurities, and ego’s to help those that look to each of us for Mauli Ola, the very essence and breath of life.

Mission Statement:
Founded in Hawaiian traditions and spiritual practices, Hui Mauli Ola is a non-profit organization of multidisciplinary cultural practitioners committed to promoting and improving the health and well-being of our communities through empowering and providing access to quality care and educational opportunities.
The purposes for which the organization is structured as follows:
1. Support intercultural exchange for practitioners to foster indigenous healing knowledge.
2. Support practitioner development by creating interactive programs based on culture and land.
3. Support and develop multidisciplinary educational experiences for communities which encourage them to live healthy and productive lives.
4. Develop materials and programs to educate communities on indigenous health practices.
5. Create environments for our traditional healing arts to thrive and flourish.
6. Protect the rights of traditional cultural practitioners.
7. Promote the use of traditional healing practices.
