Thank you for participating in Future 500's inaugural Stakeholder Engagement Survey! In appreciation, we will PLANT A TREE in the farming community of Moren, HAITI through a partnership with Plant with Purpose for each completed survey.

With this survey, we wish to identify perceptions of corporate practices in STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT - how companies engage stakeholders in dialogue to advance the company’s economic, social, and environmental PERFORMANCE.

STAKEHOLDERS are those who have a stake in or are affected by a company’s actions, such as Non-Governmental or Non-Profit Organizations (NGO’s/NPOs), investors, analysts, suppliers, employees, associations, academics, media, consumers, governmental bodies and officials, interest groups, and others.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT includes the following types of company activities related to environmental and social issues:

- Direct dialogue with stakeholders
- Transparency and accessibility of information for analysis and research
- Public corporate communications and reporting
- Lobbying
- Advocacy
- Participation in associations and issue related coalitions or working groups
- Any other corporate activities that create dialogue between the company and its stakeholders on environmental and social issues.

COMPANIES: For this inaugural survey, we selected THREE PRIORITY INDUSTRIES and the TOP COMPANIES in those industries based on the 2009 Fortune 500 list.
