*** Business Concept Review Meetings and “The Process”. *** KVC’s goal for this year is to continue to successfully lead community members through the complete end-to-end KVC process - from an individual’s idea conception, through KVC presentation, through business plan development and review, through identifying and presenting to funding source organizations (PEs, VCs, Angel Network, Alumni Groups, etc). Part of achieving this goal is to establish regular schedule of KVC business concept review meetings that are fun for people to attend, lead to successful business concepts being funded, and create an environment for additional networking that community members could get nowhere else.
*** Continuing KVC Community Education. *** KVC wants to keep the community full of fresh ideas, skills, knowledge and experiences from the VC/PE, entrepreneurial and Kellogg academic community. One of our focus areas is on how we connect KVC Community members and the aforementioned groups in a way that allows us to continue learning from one another.
*** KVC Marketing, Branding and Public Relations. *** KVC has several important goals for the upcoming year: 1) develop and execute a marketing strategy that continues the growth of our community size, 2) brand the KVC to represent the nature of KVC events and community (altruistic, safe environment, collaboration), and 3) develop a public relations campaign that promotes KVC’s cause, incentivizes people to come forward with business concepts, and makes external organizations want to become more involved with the KVC mission.
*** Tools that Entrepreneurs need to Succeed *** Discussion of how best to build a KVC website, frameworks, publications, and toolkits - the tools entrepreneurs need to succeed. Furthermore, the session will discuss how the KVC website will provide secure, user-id driven access to a web-based portal that facilitates membership growth, encourages and enables participation in business plan development and review, and provides a platform for sharing, reviewing and formalizing KVC user-generated business concepts.
*** Planning the Financial Structure of the KVC Organization. *** How do we attain the necessary funds to sponsor events and support the overall organizational mission of connecting entrepreneurs with resources to advance ideas? The goal to be accomplished is to devise a way of funding the Kellogg Venture Community’s activities and infrastructure including IT support, telecommunications services, access to library resources, meeting space and logistics, networking events, etc. Attendees of this session will benefit by having a voice in defining the financial strategy, and ongoing funding, of the KVC organization.
*** KVC Partnership with External Organizations. *** This discussion is tied to an important community goal: develop an understanding of Kellogg related entrepreneurial groups/associations, the services that they provide to the Kellogg entrepreneur, and their contact information.
