1. Welcome to the Hotel Industry Social Media Monitor Survey
Welcome to the second year of the Hotel Industry Social Media Monitor. This comprehensive survey aims to create an informed view of the implementation of social media in the hotel industry today. Our aim is to provide the industry with a clear perspective on how social media is being adopted and what it is being used for.
By Social Media we mean web based platforms that facilitate interactive dialogue between users and would include for example:
Internet forums, customer review sites such as TripAdvisor, blogs, Microblogging – such as Twitter, location-based social networks such as Foursquare, social networking sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn, social bookmarking such as StumbleUpon, social news such as Reddit, and Digg, and multimedia sharing such as YouTube, Vimeo and Flickr.
