1. Cottingham Eyesores Action Group - PETITION
The main arterial road from Hull leads through Thwaite Street and Newgate Street. We have two major building problems along this route, Cleminson Hall and Cottingham House. Both properties are privately owned. Cleminson Hall is visually becoming a disgrace. It is being allowed to dilapidate and does not appear to have any purpose left for its existence, apart from grateful pigeons!
Cottingham House is offered for a residential home development. In its current state it represents a haven for vandals. Longmans Lane is seriously open to problems related anti social behaviour.
Local Campaigner Lena Slater says: “Residents deserve better. Property developers have a duty to maintain unused buildings and gardens. Whilst we appreciate the economic climate is not vibrant for developing, it is no excuse for letting Cottingham House fall into a state which attracts anti social behaviour and disrupts the lives of residents.”
Taking this issue up on behalf of residents, Lena has set up the Cottingham Eyesores Action Group petition to pressure the owners to act responsibly and to clean and secure the sites.
Get involved and sign our online petition and let’s get some action to improve the lives of our residents.
