EMPLOYER RECOGNITION AWARDS
Traffic congestion, air pollution, and quality of life all depend on how we individually and collectively address our transportation needs. MORPC wants to commend the efforts of employers that assist and encourage their employees to commute to work other than by driving alone.
Is your company encouraging commuting options? The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), through our RideSolutions program, wants to recognize employers that offer solutions to improve mobility and air quality in our region. We invite your organization or company to apply for the second annual Employer Recognition Awards. As you go through the nomination form, please select the activities and services that apply to the organization or business you are nominating.
Applications for the 2012 Employer Recognition Awards will be evaluated by a selection committee made up from MORPC’s Citizen Advisory Committee. Winners will be chosen for their ability to offer measurable commuter benefits that reduce automobile fuel consumption and emissions through fewer vehicle trips and miles traveled.
There will be three award categories:
1. Employers with fewer than 50 employees
2. Employers with 51-250 employees
3. Employers with 251 or more employees
Employers will be evaluated on measures they use to encourage employees to try an alternate mode of transportation to work other than driving alone. Your information is protected and used only by MORPC for purposes of determining eligibility. Winning employer information will be published; winners will see information prior to publication.
Winners will be our guest for the day on October 3, 2012, where they will be honored at a ceremony during MORPC's Summit on Sustainability and the Environment at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. For information on the Summit please visit www.greenregion.org.
DEADLINE
The deadline for nominations is Monday, September 17, 2012.
