GCCE Navajo Nation Market Links Program is generously supported by EPSCoR (UNM) and will serve Crownpoint and surrounding eastern regions of the Navajo Nation.
Due to our grant requirements, APPLICANTS MUST LIVE ON THE NAVAJO NATION IN NEW MEXICO.
GCCE will select three Diné artists working in the cultural industries to participate in the New Market Links Program. The cultural industries include crafts, visual arts, performance arts, music, film, textiles, culinary and value-added food products, tourism, and design. Examples of "cultural entrepreneurs" may include artists, jewelers, potters, weavers, gallery owners, foundries, theaters, cultural centers, festivals, or other cultural ventures.
The three artists selected will receive mentoring, training, and expertise that will help to:
1.) identify new market opportunities,
2.) improve product mix to meet new market demand,
3.) build a solid platform for conducting online sales,
4.) reach new markets and gain new customers.
More specifically, GCCE will hire product development specialists, web developers, e-commerce specialists, and cultural enterprise mentors to assist each cooperative set, plan for, and achieve market expansion goals. The value provided to each selected artist will equal $2,500 plus travel stipends as needed.

February 20th, 2012 - Announcement of finalists
