Dance and Health survey from Foundation for Community Dance

1. Introduction

 10%
The importance of physical activity to the health of the nation is now more widely recognised by government, local authorities, health charities and the health service. The Foundation for Community Dance believes that community dance artists have been making a significant contribution to the health and wellbeing of their participants for some time, whether consciously or not.

Therefore we want to get a snapshot of recent dance activity that focuses on tackling issues of health and wellbeing. This overview will be used to support us in conversations with the Arts Councils of the UK and those government departments concerned with health.

So if you've recently done a project with older adults aimed at preventing falls, or are currently working with school pupils to change their habits before obesity kicks in, we want to know how you are impacting your community.

It will take 10-20 minutes to complete and will be available until Friday 19 March 2010.
