Objectives
At the completion of this web based activity the healthcare provider will be able to:
• Describe the economic and human cost of COPD in the United States and in the world
• Identify factors that contribute to the development and exacerbation of COPD
• Describe appropriate measures to prevent COPD
• Discuss evidence-based medical and physical therapies for decreasing morbidity and mortality from COPD
• Establish a best practices office or hospital-based modified pulmonary rehabilitation program including utilizing referral resources where available
• Conduct an outcome study of changes in the COPD patients of the attendees in terms of exercise tolerance, ability to do activities of daily living, and quality of life, using three and six month follow-up data.
