Clifton Corridor Transit Initiative Survey

1. Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to participate in our on line public open house. We want to know more about the desires and needs of residents and commuters in the corridor, and we want your input on some of the information presented.

Feel free to refer back to the presentation as needed as you go through the survey.

1. Please tell us more about how you use the Clifton Corridor study area:

2. How often do you travel within the study area?

3. How do you get around the study area?

4. Which corridor do you feel is most in need of mobility enhancements?

5. What would be the most important factor for you to ride transit?

6. What is the greatest transit need in the Corridor?

7. Our stakeholder groups and public open house participants indicated the following are key goals and objectives:

Reduce roadway congestion to the greatest extent possible.

Provide adequate transit coverage and accessibility to meet future demand.

Promote mixed use development/redevelopment at transit supportive densities.

Provide affordable, cost effective and sustainable transit options.

Do you agree with these goals?

8. What is the most important environmental issue to consider?

Three travel zones have been identified and presented in the presentation. The next questions will gather input on those travel zones.

Travel Zone 1 is depicted below:

9. In Travel Zone 1, where to you prefer a connection to the MARTA Red/Orange (north) line?

10. There are a variety of transit service characteristics available, including Limited Stop, Frequent Stop, or Circulator service.

In Travel Zone 1, what type of service would you prefer?

11. During our open houses, one main alternative was identified by the general public for Travel Zone 1. The alternative followed the CSX rail line from Armour Yard to the Emory Campus. Do you support this alternative?

Travel Zone 2 is depicted below:

12. Travel Zone 2 connects the Emory area to the MARTA Blue Line.

In Travel Zone 2, where do you prefer a connection to the MARTA Blue Line?

13. In Travel Zone 2, what type of service would you prefer?

14. During our open houses, two major alignments were identified, though opposition was voiced for both alignments.

Which identified alignment do you prefer?

Travel Zone 3 is depicted below:

15. For Travel Zone 3, an additional alternative was identified that connected the Blue Line to the Red/Orange Line by traveling on Clairemont Ave/Clairmont/North Druid Hills Roads for service to the VA, Toco Hills, and Executive Park, and back down Buford Highway to the Red/Orange Line.

Do you support this alignment?

16. Thank you again for your time in filling out the survey and for your interest in the Clifton Corridor Transit Initiative. Please use the space below to provide us with any general comments you may have relating to our project!
