Mental Health Alliance - Community Treatment Order survey (carer version)

The Mental Health Alliance is looking to produce a report on the first year’s impact of the Mental Health Act 2007.

Part of the report will look at the impact of Supervised Community Treatment (SCT) in England and Wales, and its powers to place certain patients on a Community Treatment Order (CTO) on discharge from hospital. These powers came into effect in November 2008.

Below is a brief questionnaire about use of SCT. The Alliance would be very grateful if you could just spend a few minutes responding.
*
1. Roughly how long has the person you care for been on a Community Treatment Order (CTO)?
*
2. Roughly how long was the person you care for in hospital before being discharged onto a CTO?
*
3. Do you feel you have had enough support from health and social care services throughout the CTO process?
4. If no, what support would you have liked?
*
5. Do you think the CTO has helped you, in terms of caring for the person?
6. If yes, how has it helped?
*
7. Do you think the CTO has helped the person you are caring for?
8. If yes, how has it helped?
9. Do you have any other comments to make about CTOs?
