Description:Census day is April 1, 2010, the day when everyone in all our communities will be counted. Achieving a full and accurate count in your community is essential because Census counts have a direct impact on the distribution of federal funds, economic development and voting power.

Join the NCTC, the Frontera Asset Building Network and several grassroots nonprofit groups for a web seminar which focuses on the "nuts and bolts" of how to work in your community to make sure everyone, regardless of citizenship status, is counted accurately in the 2010 census. Our panel will provide strategies and talk about effective actions to ensure that the residents in your community who are most likely to be missed are counted fully. The panel will also talk about available resources and specific tools you may need to plan effective outreach and to promote census participation among hard-to-count groups.

Join this training and learn:

• Ways your organization can conduct outreach within your community;
• Strong messages and about materials for getting the word out to hard-to-count groups;
• Outreach ideas and tactics for hard-to-count groups; and
• Existing resources for outreach to ensure your community is fully and fairly counted.
