Active Transportation (AT) refers to any form of self-propelled transportation that relies on human energy. The most common AT activities are walking or cycling, although inline skating, jogging, paddling, cross country skiing, and ice skating are other forms.

The Town and Municipality of Yarmouth have initiated an Active Transportation Planning study, in order to fulfill the vision for Yarmouth as a healthy, vibrant, and sustainable community that provides multiple modes of active routes connecting people, places, and neighbourhoods. The Plan will outline design upgrades and development required to create a walkable and wheelable route system within the Municipality, and identify opportunities for connectivity between neighbourhoods, businesses, schools, recreational sites, open space, and other key destinations.

A significant component to the success of the Active Transportation Plan is public input. Your input is greatly appreciated.
