Dear Parents,
I hope that you and your families are enjoying the summer! It's hard to believe that we will soon begin our next school year. The SMSOC faculty and staff is working hard to prepare for our children's next year of education and it is time again to ask the parents to start thinking about how we can be involved in our school over the coming year.
As in the past, we ask that each family volunteer to be involved in at least three school activities or events. There are many great activities planned for the year and this is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with the children and get to know other parents in our school community.
Following is a list of the activities and events which will require the assistance of parents. Please review the list and identify the opportunities you are interested in. All assistance is appreciated - whether you can chair an event or give only an hour of your time. Typically, the help that is needed at these events includes ordering and picking up food, set up, clean up, tending bar, greeting people as they arrive, etc. Once all families have provided their input to this list, committees will be formed and communication will be started. We plan to do this at the beginning of the school year so that you can plan your calendars accordingly. Note that I will email all who volunteer with specific information about each event and ask for volunteers for specific tasks. This will allow everyone to help out in whatever way best fits your schedule.
If you have any questions or suggestions or want further information about an event, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at Insco@Divergence.com. We ask that each family complete this online form by the end of August so that we can form our committees.
