WCPT- Continuing Professional Development - Individual Survey

1. Introduction

 17%
The World Confederation for Physical Therapy is undertaking this survey to gain information on the requirements of physical therapists to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) or ongoing professional education. The information gained will assist WCPT to develop guidelines for CPD and relevant CPD courses. A similar survey will be conducted amongst WCPT member organisations.

Continuing professional development opportunities for physical therapists should permit physical therapists to update their competency levels, fulfill their individual needs and foster the advancement of knowledge and practice of physical therapy to the benefit of recipients of the service.

For the purposes of this survey, continuing professional development (CPD) is defined as a systematic, ongoing structured process of maintaining, developing and enhancing skills, knowledge and competence both professionally and personally in order to improve performance at work.
