1. Introduction to the BI and Enabling Technology Survey
Thank you for participating in this survey. Your participation is very important to its success and each respondent increases confidence in the results. All individual responses are confidential and only aggregated or generic responses will appear in published survey reports.
The objective of this survey is to study current practices in business intelligence and the use of enabling technology to determine leading practices and benchmarks. Questions will be asked about three subject areas:
- Business intelligence and how it is used at your organization (approximately 15 minutes or less)
- Moving data between systems (approximately 4 minutes or less)
- Dimension/hierarchy management (approximately 5 minutes or less)
You will be given options throughout the survey to skip any subject areas that you do not wish to answer or with which you are not familiar. If you need additional help in answering the questions, we encourage you to find experts within your own organization and answer collaboratively. You may return to your survey to complete the questions prior to your final submission.
If a question or response does not exactly fit your organization, please try to answer in the “spirit” of the question. Many questions seek your opinion in addition to facts.
