survey to list products for comparative testing

1. Objective of this survey

 1 / 5

"Comparative Testing", CT in short, is testing different brands of the selected product and comparing the relative performance of each brand against the various criteria laid out before the tests. The resulting scoring for each criteria is published in a tabular form, against each brand along with the MRP. A discerning consumer can study this report and make a learned decision on choosing the brand which meets his specific requirements. CT is very old in western countries. India also has two centers in New Delhi for Northern Region and in Ahmedabad for Western region.

This survey is to elicit your views on the selection of products and services for testing by the "Comparative Test Center for Southern Region". CAI has proposed to set up this center in Chennai and plans are under way.

The three legs of the test Lab are "appropriate selection of the products (and services) to be tested", "scientific
testing" and "professional distribution of the results to the wider public". We are working on each of the above. We wanted to get the opinion of the consumers to select and prioritize the products for testing. Hence this survey.

By definition the minimum qualification for the selection of a product will be that it is packaged and will have multiple brands/vendors for this product in the market. Similarly, minimum qualification for the Service will be that the services are clearly defined, with measurable deliverables and which are offered by many service providers to the public.
We have designed the following questions to get your views and ideas on the testing per se and your priorities for the products. We request you to kindly think through and respond as best as you can. Please feel free to to give your comments and suggestions in the space provided. If you would like to be involved in this exercise, please send a mail to editor1.cai@gmail.com .

Please note that most questions require at least one answer and the survey will not go to the next page unless it is answered.
