The University Librarian, Mr Philip Kent, invites you to the third annual Librarian Lecture.
The topic this year is;
Edward Hippius Bromby and his legacy to the University of Melbourne Library
Edward Hippius Bromby was the first librarian at the University of Melbourne. Drawing on primary sources at the University Archives and the State Library of Victoria, the presentation covers his life in Melbourne society in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Bromby developed the library in the young University and grappled with issues such as collections, space and staffing and university politics.
