The Penn Vet Working Dog Center aims to collect and analyze genetic, behavioral, training and physical data and integrate the latest scientific information to improve the success and well-being of working dogs that are so vital to our national security.

The WDC opened September 11, 2012 on the University of Pennsylvania’s Pennovation campus in Philadelphia.

Our program is founded on puppies donated from quality breeders in North America. We are interested in puppies with a lineage of proven performance and health and longevity. The below survey will help identify if one of the puppies you have bred would be a good fit with this program.

All of our dogs have foster families and are not kenneled during their first year, advanced training, or at any point in their life. All of our dogs receive excellent medical care through the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine for the duration of their time in our program. All training conducted employs positive reinforcement methods. All dogs are tracked throughout their career as our ultimate goal is advancing the health and wellness of our working dogs.

By filling out this application you are not committing to participating in the program and the WDC is not committing to your puppy’s inclusion. We are interesting in ascertaining if there is a good potential fit. If you have any questions, please contact Annemarie DeAngelo, Training Director, at 215-898-2215.
