Big Society, Localism and the BME Third Sector

1. Welcome

The Coalition Government have announced that their ‘ambition is localism’ and it is expected that the Localism Bill will become law by November 2011. This means that there will be a ‘radical shift of power from Westminster to local people’.

There is potential that this agenda could disproportionately affect BME communities and the BME Third Sector and so One North West wants to collect responses to this agenda from across the region to be able to influence the Coalition's programme and its local implementation.

You do not have to answer every question and the survey should not take too long. Your thoughts will be invaluable for us to lobby for greater race equality in the North West.
