Alliance of Specialty Medicine Medicare Participation

Medicare reimbursement to physicians was cut by 21.3% on June 1 since Congress failed to act. Subsequently, Congress passed a temporary 6 month measure and physicians' Medicare reimbursement will be increased by 2.2% from June 1 - November, 2010. On December 1, however, reimbursement rates will once again be cut -- this time by 23.5% -- unless Congress intervenes yet again. In an effort to better understand the implications for Medicare beneficiaries should this 23.5% cut go into effect, the Alliance of Specialty Medicine is conducting a brief survey on specialists’ plans for Medicare participation.
