This questionnaire is part of a study examining how people respond to everyday situations. In this case the situations used are based on those likely to be encountered in educational settings.

This questionnaire consists of four parts and should take about 20 minutes to complete.

The results will be used as part of a research project examining the way people think about situations and the kinds of factors that influence the way they respond to them.

The results collected from this study will be held for up to ten years at the University of Surrey. Some biographical details about you are asked but the record of results will be anonymised. Biographical details are collected to find out how representative study participants are of the population. The survey has been reviewed and has been given a favourable ethical opinion by the University of Surrey Ethics Committee.

This study examines behavioural styles that are often used by prospective employers when evaluating candidates for jobs.

You don't have to give an e-mail address if you would prefer to remain completely anonymous.

The remainder of this questionnaire consists of the following four parts:

Part 1: Biographical questions;
Part 2: How would you respond to situations;
Part 3: What you think the most effective responses are;
Part 4: How you describe yourself.

This is not a test, there are no right or wrong answers. Please answer all questions based on how you feel you would be most likely to respond.

If you have any questions about this study please contact the principal researcher at G.Burnett@surrey.ac.uk.

Thank you for your participation.
