APEC SCSC: Aligning Energy Efficeincy Regulations for ICT Products: Developing a Strategic Approach
Welcome! Thank you for your interest in the APEC workshop: Aligning Energy Efficiency Regulations for ICT Products - Developing a Strategic Approach Workshop.
In 2011, twenty of the APEC Member Economies endorsed a set of principles that promote a more streamlined approach to energy efficiency standards, testing, and certification. This one-day workshop will build on this mandate, and make further progress toward the following objectives:
To prevent unnecessary market access barriers for ICT products and increase the availability and use of innovative, energy efficient products in markets worldwide.
To advance the ongoing public-private dialogue among APEC economies regarding ways to align ICT product energy efficiency requirements through the development and use of global standards and more trade-friendly conformity assessment procedures. This project will begin the planning of implementation of principles developed in the1st workshop on ICT Energy Efficiency in September 2011 in San Francisco.
To identify and seek economies’ support for specific strategies to accomplish this alignment. An action plan will be developed describing how economies current use or how they will take up the principles on ICT Energy Efficiency agreed to in the September 2011 APEC ICT Energy Efficiency Conference.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, 18 July, 2012 at the Millennium Seoul Hilton Hotel, in Seoul, South Korea:
