Asian American Studies Assessment
Purpose of Study
The UCLA Asian American Studies department is currently reviewing its undergraduate curriculum. The overall purpose of the project is to assess the Asian American studies program and understand students' perspective regarding the undergraduate program in an effort to better serve student needs.
Payment for participation
If you complete the survey, you will be eligible for a raffle for a UCLA Store gift card. There are multiple drawings available for one gift card valued at $50 and four at $25.
Procedures
If you volunteer to participate in this study, we would ask you to complete the online survey. This survey should take about fifteen minutes to complete.
Potential risks and discomforts
There could be some survey items that you are uncomfortable answering or to which you would simply prefer not to respond. You have the right to skip any questions and/or withdraw from the survey at any point in time. Your participation in this study is voluntary. Your decision regarding whether or not to complete this questionnaire will not affect your association with UCLA.
Confidentiality
All data that is collected will be placed on a secured computer that is not connected to the internet and housed within the Urban Planning department. Additionally, the data will be placed on a password protected external hard drive, which will be a locked office in the Urban Planning department. Only the researchers on this project will have access to the data file.
Any information that is obtained in connection with this study and that can be identified with you will remain confidential and will be disclosed only with your permission or as required by law. The information you provide will be combined with responses from other seniors and reported only in the form of summary statistics and group totals. Your name, student ID, and any identifying attributes will NOT be connected to your responses in any reports or publications.
Participation and withdrawal
You may decide not to complete the questionnaire for any reason at any time without consequence of any kind. Your participation in the interview indicates your consent to participate in the study.
