HPCANYS is seeking palliative care professionals in NY State who are established in their field with a desire to achieve a higher level in the practice of pediatric palliative care to be trained as HIPPC Faculty and to engage in the development of a statewide professional support network.

Why?
With support from the NYS Health Foundation, HPCANYS has developed a 2-year project to increase access to pediatric palliative care services by building capacity among providers across the state. To accomplish this goal we have created a two-fold strategy that will produce a positive impact on the availability and accessibility of quality pediatric palliative care in every county across the state.

First, we have built on the existing HPCANYS Interdisciplinary Pediatric Palliative Care' (HIPPC)training by developing a 'HIPPC Faculty Development Training Curriculum' to train qualified interdisciplinary teams to deliver HIPPC trainings in their own geographical regions, communities or institutions.

Second, we have developed a virtual 'Center for Excellence in Pediatric Palliative Care' to serve as a statewide resource hub for practitioners and as a source of information for families of children facing a serious, life limiting or terminal illness or disease. This web-based repository will showcase innovative children’s palliative care programs across the state and will contain current best practices, ongoing research, regulatory updates and information regarding relevant clinical trials.
