What do you know about eco-labelling and certification in your community?

1. Survey on labelling and certification at the local level that considers ecosystem services

We would kindly like to ask you to take 5 minutes to answer the following questions for the international initiative: The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB - see www.teebweb.org). For our report directed at the local level we are interested in your experience with eco-labelling and certification.

Please consider we are interested in certification schemes that aim at conserving biodiversity or ecosystem services: any services that are of value to humans from nature. E.g.: food provision, leisure and recreation, species conservation, bioremediation of waste, nutrient cycling and raw materials.

One example for labelling and certification is dolphin-free tuna. The product is certified for being produced in way not harming dolphins. People value conservation of dolphins. Another example is certification of agricultural products, where standards require to abandon pesticide use.
