As part of my degree I am undertaking a research project. I am therefore inviting you to take part in my project named “Attitudes and Perceptions".
Before you decide to participate, it is important for you to understand what the project involves and what you will be required to do. Please take time to read the following information. If anything is not clear, please feel free to ask any questions before you start.
Aim: The study aims to investigate the different attitudes and perceptions of men and women.
Participation: Taking part in this study is entirely voluntary and you are free to withdraw at any time without giving a reason and without penalty. For the purpose of the assignment being submitted, should you wish your data to be withdrawn, then the closing date for withdrawing from the study would be 1st April 2012. If you wish to withdraw please remember your 6 digit number (which will be asked for at the end after part three) and email me at email@example.com.
Procedure: I am looking for White British/ White European men and women aged 18 to 26 years to take part in this study. The study has 4 parts. The first requires you to complete demographical information which consists of 6 questions. The second part asks you to rate 5 imaginary situations using the Likert scale provided. The third part asks you to view images of men and women then requires you to answer 6 questions for each of the images using the Likert scale provided. Please be aware some of the images include partial nudity and may cause offence. Some text may also cause offence. The fourth and final part asks you to rate your opinion on 22 statements using the Likert scale provided. Please answer all parts of the study as HONESTLY as you can so that a true picture of attitudes and perceptions can be recorded for the study.
This study will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
