Sherwood School District Community Budget Survey

As we enter into the development of the 2012-13 budget, the Sherwood School District is once again offering multiple opportunities for our stakeholders to provide input into its creation. Based on positive feedback last year, we will again be conducting multiple Community and Staff Listening Sessions. The Community Listening Sessions will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Laurel Ridge Middle School Cafeteria on January 24 and March 6. A new feature in our input gathering process is an anonymous, online survey. The results of the attached survey will help guide the District budget team in preparing a proposed budget.

Our Sherwood School District Board of Directors has identified and prioritized one goal that guides our work -- the goal is around the individual academic growth of each of our students and reads, “Every student will meet his or her individual growth targets in reading, writing, and math.” This goal is our district’s primary focus and the umbrella under which all decisions should be made.

We are asking our community to prioritize components of our K-12 educational program. All of these areas are important, but with an estimated budget reduction of $950,000 - $1,250,000 next year, we may not be able to afford to keep them all ‘whole.’ The following priorities were identified during conversations with the community and staff last year, and each of them are important and add value to the educational experience Sherwood students receive. Please use the buttons to rank these six priorities, 1 to 6, in order of importance to you. While this is not a vote, we value your input and willingness to weigh in.

This survey will close on March 1, 2012.
