The purpose is, firstly, to understand the challenges that business analysts face and, secondly, how they would most like to address these challenges through professional development.

It has been created by Business Analyst Mentor (www.businessanalystmentor.com) which is a website that helps business analysts resolve their professional challenges through a variety of resources, drawn from the experience of seasoned professionals.

Business Analyst Mentor is run by Alex Papworth, a freelance business analyst with twenty years experience for a wide variety of organizations.
As well as being a full time BA and mentor, he is also the President of the UK chapter of the IIBA.
