Centerline Markings inside La Jolla Classics

Question Title

* 1. About 15 years ago, the 4 right-angle corners inside our neighborhood had the centerlines marked with a double row of yellow pavement marking buttons. A combination of square reflective plastic markers and round non-reflective ceramic markers were installed. Many of these buttons have now broken into pieces or ripped out (taking a chunk of pavement with them sometimes).

Some time in 2013, the Board will contract for resurfacing of all of our Common Area streets with a slurry seal of some kind. All of these centerline markers will be removed, and the surface blemishes left behind will be patched, prior to the resurfacing.

The question is, what decision would you like the Board to make regarding the replacement of these 4 centerlines. Please choose one option from the list below.

The centerlines are unneeded, and should not be reinstalled on the new pavement surface.

The centerlines should be replaced with the same types of button products.

The centerlines should be replaced, but should be painted lines instead of buttons.

The centerlines should be replaced, but should be installed with long-lasting thermoplastic material (that is either heat-melted in place, or cold-applied with contact cement).

I cannot answer the question with one of these 4 choices. I am explaining my recommendation in the narrative response to the last question.

* 2. Do you think the Board should make its decision based on this poll?

Yes - the one choice that gets the most votes should be the Board's mandate.

Yes - but a mandate only if more than half of the 132 Owners bother to supply a vote; if not, the vote should be used by the Board as guidance

No - the Board should only use the vote outcome as guidance in making the decision.
