1. Stakeholder survey: Review of the Level 3 Visual Arts Provision

As part of the refresh of our Sector Qualifications Strategy, and in consultation with the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and Young Peoples Learning Agency (YPLA), Creative & Cultural Skills is leading on a review of all qualifications that provide progression into undergraduate study in Art and Design. This will allow comparisons to be made about the relative value attributed to different types of level 3 qualifications by different ‘receiving’ HEIs.

The outcome of this research will be a report which evaluates the role of the FAD in line with Level 3 Visual Arts provision, and makes recommendations on the value of the FAD to the sector. This may be used to inform the development of a business case for FAD funding.

Please take part in this research by completing the survey which follows.

Key objectives include:

· Constructing a general map of visual arts provision (including a specific up-to-date map of provision for Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (FAD) in terms of institutions)

· Capturing and evaluating views on the value, benefits and unique selling points of the Art and Design A-levels, vocational qualifications and FAD from industry as well as a sample of those institutions delivering the qualifications (to include UKADIA and CHEAD members)

· Assessing the impact of the potential removal of funding for the FAD (on learners, institutions and the other qualifications)
